Charles Dickens' Birthplace Museum is the historic regency-style terraced house in Portsmouth where celebrated author Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812. Managed by Portsmouth Museums and Portsmouth City Council, the restored writer's house museum showcases authentic Regency period rooms, personal artefacts, Dickens' snuff box and inkwell, and the couch on which he died.
