About

Alexander Graham Bell (1847–1922) was an eminent Scottish-born inventor, scientist, and educator celebrated for inventing and patenting the first practical telephone in 1876. During his time in Boston, Massachusetts, Bell served as a professor of Vocal Physiology and Elocution at Boston University's School of Oratory, conducted pioneering acoustics experiments, and dedicated much of his career to speech education and advancing communication for the deaf and hard of hearing.
